St. Patrick of Ireland     387-461

Feast Day - March 17th

Patron Saint of:  Ireland, engineers, paralegals and is invoked against snakes and witchcraft.

Saint Patrick is one of the most well known saints in the Catholic and secular world. Born in Scotland, at age fourteen he was captured by pirates and taken to Ireland as a slave. This lasted for four years. During this time Patrick prayed to God daily and became very close to Him. He eventually escaped to Britain with God’s direct help in a form of a dream. Patrick became a priest and years later returned to Ireland, which was a very pagan country at that time. He began preaching the Gospel and converting thousands of people to Christianity. He did this for forty years in Ireland and became quite beloved. St. Patrick is most popular for using the shamrock to help teach the truth of the Trinity.
