"Train up a child in the way he should go, And even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6 We can learn a lot from this simple Bible passage about raising children. This verse is often quoted by Christian homeschoolers as a key reason to teach their children from a Godly perspective. They want to impart the wisdom of the Lord and the teachings of Jesus Christ to their children. The rich teachings, traditions, and scripture shared by the Catholic church is the legacy that many parents want to leave to their children. However, we can also think of this passage in terms of teaching children, from a very young age, how to positively interact with their fellow human beings, their environment, and their possessions. By teaching good habits to care for their health, their home and the commitments they make to others, we are also training our children in such a way that they will live virtuous lives, retaining the lessons from childhood far into their adulthood. We hope that our colourful, bright charts will invite your children to keep healthy, follow the rules of your house, help out around it joyously, and follow through with their commitments whether they be learning to play an instrument, feeding the dog, not squabbling with siblings, or simply going to bed on time.
