downloadable game card sets match each weekly wordlist. Reinforce new words and help children review completed lessons with these game cards. Perfect for little hands, colour coded to match with each phonetic tool, and lots of fun to play with daily.
Each ten card set is downloaded in sets in a .PDF format and can be printed on plain paper, but we recommend printing it on card stock. You may opt to laminate them if you plan on using them with multiple learners.
Game cards are perfect for playing a variety of games. Here are a few ideas:
Quick as a Bunny - As quickly as possible list the spelling words in alphabetical order.
Twenty Questions to Guess a Word - 2 players are needed as one player asks up to twenty questions to try and figure out which spelling word the other player has secretly selected. This helps to build vocabulary and word recognition as well as spelling skills.
Rhyme with Me - 2 players are needed as one player flips a card and the other must quickly name a rhyming word.
Same and Different - 2 players are needed as one player flips a card and the other player must name a synonym and an antonym for the word on the card.
You can also print out two sets a week and play Go Fish or Concentration/matching style games. Mix and match sets to create larger review type go fish style games. You'll be surprised how just one game a day reinforces words to easy mastery. A blank template is also provided for you to make your own cards.
