Fun Spelling Programs for Daily Use

Add fun and zest to spelling with our themed spelling resources and activities. These unique resources help to teach children to spell without pressure and with lots of fun and games. Created for our youngest hands-on learner, these lesson packs feature themed resources including: a spelling passport, spelling word lists, printable sticker sheets, spelling flashcards, word list strips, fun spelling reinforcement sheets, spelling learning flashcards, spelling copywork sheets, and non-threatening assessment sheets, if desired. Each themed lesson pack has its own decorative and phonetic theme, and is marked for usage with the youngest to oldest possible age groups. We hope your learners enjoy these resources as much as ours did.

How to use our Spelling Resources

Using our spelling resources can be easy and fun for learners. Just follow these steps:

Create a Spelling Passport. Print out the appropriate pieces to the spelling passport and assemble.

Select your wordlist.  Choose the wordlist you would like to focus on and then print out the go-along wordlist helpers and activities we have provided. If you are using your own words, simply print out the blank resources and handwrite your own words in.

Read and write the wordlist daily. Have your child read through the wordlist daily with you and write the copywork wordlist daily.

Play a word game daily. Use the activity cards daily using your game of choice.

Select one spelling activity sheet to do daily. Some sheets are puzzle oriented others merge spelling, grammar and phonics together.

Review daily with word posters and flashcards. Encourage your child to use and review spelling words daily in their other subjects using the reference tools of Spelling List Word Strips and Our Learning Cards flashcards.

Assess for Knowledge. At the end of a week, two weeks or at any time you feel your child is ready, assess your child to make sure they know the words. Assessment could be a formal written test, a test at a chalkboard/wipe off board, using magnetic letters, writing in coloured pens, oral spelling bee style, writing in sand or any other way you feel necessary for your child.
