Organizing a whole year of learning for our children is hard work.
As part of our calling as parents to be the first teachers of our children, we need to make sure we cover all of the important subjects. Although our little ones need the 3Rs of reading, writing and arithmetic, worldly subjects such as science, history, foreign language, and geography, they also need faith development to benefit to grow personal, familial, and community relationships as well. Trying to select, organize, and order all of these needs into a workable and doable yearly learning plan can feel quite overwhelming.
Over the years we have created different sheets to use to help us plan our days, weeks, months, years, units, and purchases. We gladly share them with you in hopes of making your planning sessions easier and your homeschool days smoother.
Keep in mind that each person's organizational style is different and what works and is comfortable for one person may not work for another. So if you are new to homeschooling and feel overwhelmed, just take a deep breath and relax, and try out a few styles until you find something you like and that works for you.
