		Social Studies Games Focused on Families The family is the very first social group children learn about.  They learn certain truths about the world, their faith, and each other through the safe and loving confines and filter of a family.  Make no mistake, the family is the most integral part of the world. "As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live."  Pope John Paul II We created games about families to help learners not only meet learning standards but also to help them truly understand the different parts of society and how they fit into it now and will fit into the world in the future.  By raising children strong in their faith, we help to create future families that will direct the world into the arms of our Lord.
			Family Relations Game Age:  Elem+ Focus:  Family members and relationships   Introduce children to the members of a family including the terms mother, father, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, cousin, nephew, niece, aunt, uncle, husband and wife.  Different ethnicities are represented to help show the diversity of families.  Use this game not only to learn the terms for family members but also to practice setting up a family tree with different scenarios. Print out two sets for Go Fish or Concentration match-up style games.
