Shapes and geometry have real value in today's world. Whether it is helping to develop depth perception for software or web design, symmetry for careers in engineering, architecture or steel fabrication, or allowing a budding artist to "see" and recognize shapes in their subjects - shapes and geometry are important. Have fun helping your learners build and reinforce shape recognition and geometry skills using our out of the box learning games. Math Geometry and Shape Games

Math Shape Run Around GameAge: Wee+ Focus: Shape & colour recognition w/movement
Using such shapes as rectangles, cylinders, circles, arches, ovals and more, encourage kids to recognize pieces by name as well as shape. Spread the shape pieces between two rooms in the house or a really large play room. For older kids who are in need of getting energy out, spread the shapes out around the entire house or backyard. *Feel free to only use your backyard if you don't allow any indoor play in your household. Select random shapes for children to run and find. If printed on coloured paper, you can call pieces not only by shape but also by colour. This is a great game to play indoors for those who live in cold areas or in inclement weather. |
